At St Andrew's CE Primary School, every lesson follows our carefully designed Learning Cycle to ensure all children can achieve success. Learning begins by preparing pupils to learn and activating their prior knowledge so that new learning builds on what they already know. Teachers then provide clear, explicit instruction and model expert thinking, making their thought processes visible and breaking learning into manageable steps. Pupils develop confidence through guided practice before applying their knowledge independently, with timely feedback and support to help them succeed. Every lesson ends with opportunities to review and reflect, allowing teachers to celebrate progress, address misconceptions and plan the next steps in learning.
