Consultation on proposed academy conversion

The Governing Body of the school is joining with eight other schools to form a new diocesan multi-academy trust called Emmanuel Diocese of Liverpool Academies Trust.

It is the intention that the school will move to be an academy in this trust in the summer term.

We would like to consult on your views about this proposal.  The Trust have provided a consultation website with further information, including our reasons for academisation, a letter of consultation and a response form.  The consultation website is: www.edlatconsultations.uk

Our Christian Vision

Rooted in our Christian Faith, we believe everybody is uniquely made in the image of God, deeply valued and loved. We are committed to nurturing the whole child - academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually - so that all can achieve their full, God-given potential. Through an ambitious, enriching curriculum and excellent teaching, we lay the foundations for lifelong learning and personal growth, preparing children to live life in all its fullness.

We aim to inspire our children to believe in themselves, in one another and in God - encouraging resilience, hope and a sense of purpose. We care for and respect each other, creating a safe, inclusive and compassionate community where diversity is celebrated, everyone's voice is heard and every story matters. United in faith and fellowship, we recognise that we are stronger together - learning, growing and flourishing side by side.

Our Fantastic Children!

Welcome

Welcome to St Andrew’s Church of England VA Primary School. Our happy, caring school aims to enable every child to have high aspirations and to achieve their full potential. Our highly skilled team of staff work tirelessly to ensure that all children flourish academically, spiritually and socially. We are passionate about equipping each child with the skills and attributes they need to become lifelong learners and supporting them to become responsible citizens.

As a Church of England Primary School, we promote the values of our Christian faith throughout our daily lives. Our Christian Values underpin and drive all of our learning and attitudes. We have close links with St. Andrew’s Church and the children visit church to worship and to celebrate Christian festivals.

Our children are truly incredible and are very proud of our special school where we happily achieve, believe and care together.

We hope that our website will provide you with all the information you require about our school. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Reminder: Transition & PE Days
Just a reminder that starting next week (including the first day back), children will be expected to come to school wearing their PE kit on the days they have PE. Children have PE twice each week. A letter was sent out earlier this year explaining the reasons for this change (this letter is attached). It is important that children come into school wearing the correct school PE kit. Uniform is an important part of school life—it promotes a sense of belonging, encourages equality, and helps maintain a focused learning environment; it is not an opportunity for them to wear their own clothes so we would appreciate your support with this. School PE kit: normal PE shorts, a white polo shirt, and their usual school jumper or cardigan. On colder days, plain black tracksuit bottoms may also be worn. Day Classes doing PE: Monday Y3 and Y6 Tuesday Y3 and Y1 Wednesday Y5 and Y4 Thursday Y2, Y4 and Y5 Friday Y1, Y2 and Y6

Important Message from Cheshire Police – Snapchat Group Safety
Dear Parents and Carers, We have been asked by the local authority to share the following important information with you. Cheshire Police have recently become aware of a concerning incident involving a Snapchat group chat, where adults were sharing indecent images of themselves with children. Some of the children involved in the group are from Warrington. The police are actively investigating this specific case. As a precaution, and to help keep children safe online, the police are urging all parents and carers to speak with their children about the potential risks of Snapchat group chats and the importance of staying safe when using social media platforms. Please take a moment to read the full communication from Cheshire Police via the link below: https://www.cheshire.police.uk/news/cheshire/news/articles/2025/7/police-urge-parents-to-speak-with-their-children-about-snapchat-safety-following-reports-of-a-concerning-group-chat-in-warrington/ Thank you for your continued support in helping us to keep our children safe. WHATSAPP GROUPS
We’d like to make you aware that some pupils have created class WhatsApp groups, which are being used outside of school. Unfortunately, we've seen cases where inappropriate language and unkind messages have been shared. These online issues are often brought into school and impact relationships and learning time. We kindly ask that you monitor your child’s phone use and speak with them about respectful behaviour online. Please also be aware that WhatsApp’s minimum age is 13. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a positive school environment. Gemma Moulsdale Headteacher

Important Health Notice – Threadworm Infections
Dear Parents and Carers, We would like to inform you that we have received a reported case of threadworms (also known as pinworms) in school. Threadworms are a common childhood infection and are not usually serious, but they are easily spread between children and within households. The most common symptom is itching around the bottom, particularly at night. According to guidance from the NHS, the treatment for threadworms involves: • Everyone in the household taking medication – even if they are not showing symptoms – to prevent reinfection. Treatment is available from pharmacies without a prescription. • Maintaining good hygiene for at least 2 weeks, including: o Washing hands and scrubbing under fingernails regularly (especially after using the toilet and before eating). o Bathing or showering each morning to remove eggs laid overnight. o Keeping fingernails short and avoiding nail-biting or finger-sucking. o Washing sleepwear, bedding, towels, and soft toys regularly. For full details, you can visit the NHS page on threadworms here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/threadworms/ We appreciate your support in helping us manage this issue and reduce the risk of further spread. If you have any concerns or suspect your child may be affected, please seek advice from your pharmacist or GP
