Welcome to Reception

At St Andrew's, our Reception Class is the start of an exciting learning journey where children are nurtured to achieve, believe and care, together. We provide a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where young learners develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Through play-based and structured activities, our dedicated staff support each child in building essential skills—socially, emotionally, and academically. We encourage every child to believe in their abilities, achieve their full potential, and care for themselves, others, and the world around them.

We look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child’s first steps in school are filled with joy, discovery, and success!

Important Information

Your child should bring a bag to school each day and you should also check inside as we will put in letters, first aid slips and books in.

Children have access to fresh water, fruit and milk each day.  If you choose to send a snack from home please ensure it is a suitable item such as fruit, veg sticks or toast/ bread.

Please label all items of clothing.

P.E usually takes place on a Wednesday but kits should remain in school.  We will send them home at the end of each half term for washing.

Please keep checking on Class Dojo and Tapestry regularly as this is how we will keep you updated with important information.
