Christian Values at the Heart of Our School
At our school, Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide our decisions, shape our relationships, and are woven into every part of school life. We believe that these values help our children grow into kind, thoughtful, and responsible individuals who contribute positively to their communities.
Our six core Christian values are:
Community, Compassion, Trust, Forgiveness, Endurance, and Friendship
These values are not just taught — they are lived. Our pupils breathe life into them each day, showing care for one another, working together, and treating everyone with respect and kindness.
Each half term, we focus on one of these values in depth through our whole-school worships and a carefully chosen fiction book that helps bring the value to life in a meaningful and accessible way. These stories spark rich conversations and help children make connections between the values and their own lives.
In addition, each class explores a specific Christian value throughout the year, giving pupils the opportunity to reflect more deeply on what it means and how it can be lived out day to day:
-
Reception – Love
-
Year 1 – Courage
-
Year 2 – Honesty
-
Year 3 – Peace
-
Year 4 – Responsibility
-
Year 5 – Generosity
-
Year 6 – Justice
Rooted in the Church of England’s vision for education, our Christian values support the development of the whole child — intellectually, spiritually, morally, and socially. They help our children to flourish: to become confident, compassionate individuals who know their worth, recognise the worth of others, and are inspired to live life in all its fullness.
These values are much more than words on a wall — they are a living part of our school culture. Through them, we nurture a strong moral foundation that guides our children not just during their time with us, but throughout their lives.
