The Governors, staff and children of St Andrew’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated, dynamic and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to work in partnership with the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and development of our school.
Working with the Headteacher, staff and governors, you will be a determined and ambitious leader who is passionate and highly motivated to deliver our robust strategy of continuous improvement in teaching, learning and wellbeing in our ambitious and inclusive church school.
In July 2023, Ofsted’s inspection report, graded the school as ‘Good’ overall with ‘Outstanding’ for our Behaviour and Attitudes. The opening paragraph from the Ofsted report reads: “Pupils at St Andrew’s thrive in the warmth and kindness that threads through the work of staff and leaders”.

We are looking for a Deputy headteacher who:
- Has a passionate commitment to develop children’s learning, setting high expectations for everyone to reach their true potential with an engaging curriculum.
- Has a desire to enhance the existing strengths of the school, bringing inspirational drive and enthusiasm for continuous improvement and to further develop its Christian ethos and values.
- Has the skills and knowledge to monitor, evaluate and report on standards of attainment, learning and teaching across school and data analysis.
- Has experience of teaching and leading teams of staff effectively
- Has clear and demonstrable experience of developing their own and others pedagogy and practice
- Has excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills; highly energetic and willingness to promote a strong team spirit.
- Has an open approach to the many school stakeholders including governors, parents/carers, church and community.
- Believes passionately in the role of a Church of England School and lives out the Gospel Values in their day-to-day life
- Is committed to the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of children and staff.
