St Andrew's Christian Values
At the heart of our school are our six core Christian Values – Community, Compassion, Forgiveness, Friendship, Endurance, and Trust.
These values underpin everything we do and help our children grow into kind, thoughtful and resilient individuals who make a positive difference in the world.
Each half-term, we focus on one of these core values. This focus runs through all areas of school life and is sometimes linked with a British Value to help our pupils see how Christian teaching connects with life in modern Britain.
Throughout the half-term:
-
Our weekly worships explore the value through Bible stories, reflection and song.
-
We share a fiction book that brings the value to life through story and character.
-
One class leads a Courageous Advocacy Project, using the value to inspire action and make a difference in our local or global community.
In addition to our whole-school values, each class also has its own distinct Christian Value which shapes their learning and reflection:
-
EYFS – Love
-
Year 1 – Courage
-
Year 2 – Honesty
-
Year 3 – Peace
-
Year 4 – Responsibility
-
Year 5 – Generosity
-
Year 6 – Justice
Every classroom includes a reflection area that helps children pause, pray, and think about their class value. Each half-term, pupils explore a “Big Question” related to their value, encouraging deep thinking and discussion about faith, life, and the world around them.
We also take time each week to celebrate how our children are living out these values. During our Celebration Worship every Friday, we recognise and give thanks for pupils who have shown our Christian Values in their words, actions and relationships.
Together, our Christian Values guide us to learn with love, serve with joy, and grow in faith.
